Sought for You in distant lands, the lakes, rivers, the mountains,

Sought for You  in crystals, rocks & stones,

Sought for You in the scriptures, books & nocturnal devotional penance,

Arduous, labourious, strenuous,

Sought for You in symbols, ritual recitation & prayer,

Sought for You in all the wrong places,

Endlessly, tirelessly, exhaustively,

Until, by Divine Grace, the Perfect Teacher glanced our way,

Whose wise counsel advised,

'Go within the Temple of your own abode,

Go deep within the Heart of your own being,

There within, you will find the True Lord.'
